RANDI R. NELSON is an associate attorney at Nusbaum & Parrino. She joined the firm in April 2013 and devotes her practice to family law. Ms. Nelson is involved with the full spectrum of client representation, including drafting and prosecution of pre- and post-judgment motions, conducting and managing discovery, witness examinations during court hearings, and the negotiation and drafting of separation agreements and other agreements submitted to the court. Ms. Nelson is fully committed to providing effective representation in cases involving divorce, custody, child support, asset protection and equitable distribution issues.
Ms. Nelson recently completed a 12-day trial involving highly complex and sophisticated financial issues, a prenuptial agreement and an amendment to a prenuptial agreement. She was lead counsel on financial issues litigated during trial, including the tracing of separate property assets over the course of a sixteen-year marriage.
Ms. Nelson is admitted to practice in Connecticut, and is a member of the American, Connecticut and Fairfield County bar associations. She is an appointed member of the Executive Committee of the Connecticut Bar Association Family Law Section, and selected as a 2015 and 2016 Connecticut Rising Star by Super Lawyers. The American Institute of Family Law Attorneys also selected Ms. Nelson as one of the 10 Best Family Law Attorneys for Client Satisfaction in Connecticut. In 2014, she was recognized as a Top 10 Family Law Attorney in Connecticut under the age of 40 by the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys. Ms. Nelson was also selected by the Connecticut Law Tribune as one of the “New Leaders in the Law” 2013.
She earned her bachelor’s degree from University of Texas at Arlington in 2007 and her Juris Doctor degree from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University in 2010, where she was the recipient of a merit-based scholarship and a member of the Cardozo Journal of Law and Gender.
